The Farmhouse Comes Back to Life
With the new foundation in place and the rot excised from the back of the building, the farmhouse began to come together. The wrap-around porches were rebuilt to match the original design, as shown in an 1887 photograph of the farmhouse.
The existing well was a fine water source, critical in a dry area like this. But it was a major effort to bring the well up to modern standards. Then we installed a new septic system and added retaining walls and other hardscaping. And we put in a shop for John!
